Quantitative Reasoning
Math 1030
Quantitative Reasoning is a math course which combined previously learned techniques in college-level algebra and statistics and applied them to real world, quantitative issues. In the class we learned to step back from the equation and ask how we can reason through the data to come to overall, quantitative, conclusions. In this class I learned how to stack data against other data and look for inconsistencies, trends and make predictions.
My signature assignment is my final project for the course. We were allowed to choose any topic that required us to compare numbers. At the time I was debating over the purchase of a new car and I used the skills I had acquired in the class to reason through my potential purchase. Attached is the resulting paper and companion Power Point Presentation.
