CIS 1020, Computer Essentials

This highly hands-on class bolstered my computer confidence and computer skills. Most classroom assignments were completed in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  Attached here are two signature assignments from this course demonstrating my best work. 

The first, a Word assignment, illustrates the techniques I learned in "publishing" professional-looking reports in Word; complete with a cover page and a table of figures. These previously unknown skills I was able to apply in my job when I was asked to write training documents. I was ever-so grateful to this assignment because I was easily able to produce a professional book of training instructions for my employer.  

The second, an Excel assignment, is an excellent example of the formula and charting skills I learned. This assignment required me to write simple formulas for data and then create charts based on this data. The combined numerical and visual display of data helped me see how comprehensive an Excel workbook could be.
