This core-skills requirement class turned away from heavily analytic writing and taught me how to write in a more objective voice. We learned that reporting on a topic requires that a writer win over the audience not by passionate, persuasive writing, but by carefully chosen facts that speak for themselves. 

My strengths in writing have never been in reporting. It is difficult for me to withhold my own opinions and feelings for a topic. However, for my attached signature assignment, I was able to temporarily set aside my persuasive writing to stregthen a voice in objective reporting.
